IMTECH-KIEKENS Desuperheaters is a specialised business unit of IMTECH-SYSTEMS B.V., dedicated to the design, supply and manufacture of VENTURI DESUPERHEATERS geared to steam and other gases. Applications can be found, for example, in refineries, the (petro-) chemical industry, power plants and desalination plants.
Under its previous trade name, KIEKENS, our company has been active in the very specialised market for (steam)desuperheating for over 40 years now, installing over 4,600 DESUPERHEATERS in 93 different countries. In all that time we never received a single warranty claim on any unit supplied. We take this as a proof of the excellent quality and service we are offering our customers. IMTECH-KIEKENS is world-wide recognised as the leading supplier of DESUPERHEATERS based upon the VENTURI technology.
DESUPERHEATING
The most practical way of reducing the superheat value of steam (or another gas) is by direct addition of water (or another condensate). To ensure temperature stability of the conditioned steam and to prevent thermal shock in downstream lines, the cooling water should ideally be fully atomized. There should be a correct mix of steam and water. Desuperheating can be accomplished with different types of equipment, each having its own specific technology. The application usually defines the requirement of desuperheater type.
PRODUCTS
Our present size range encompasses 1” up till 48” ‘in-line’ VENTURI style DESUPERHEATERS. In addition, we are able to effect construction of the units in any forged steel quality available, dependant upon the applicable design parameters and its intended use. Each VENTURI style ‘in-line’ unit is custom designed to suit its specific operating conditions.
Besides the VENTURI style DESUPERHEATER we can also supply MULTIPLE NOZZLE
SPRAY (MNS) type DESUPERHEATERS equipped with an integrated water injection
control valve, should process conditions demand it. These units are available
in HEAVY DUTY (fully forged) and STANDARD DUTY (welded construction) execution
and are available in a wide range of construction materials.
